The European Collection for Biomedical Research, located in Genoa (Italy) and in Essen (FRG), is a non-profit resource dedicated to the production, characterization, collection, preservation and distribution of immunogenetically defined, continuonsly growing human B lymphoblastoid cell lines. At present most of the lines are produced by Epstein Barr virus transformation. A specialised collection of mouse HLA transfectants is available in the HyperCLDB.
