90% alpha-MEM + 10% FBS + 2 mM L-glutamine split confluent cultures 1:3 or higher every 2-4 days using trypsin/EDTA; maximum density at 90 x 106 cells/175 cm 2 ; seed out at ca. 0.1-1.0 x 106 cells/80 cm 2 in 10 ml medium at 37C with 5% CO2 about 10 x 106 cells/80 cm 2 or 40-70 x 106 cells/175 cm 2;
doubling time of ca. 20-24 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 2 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization, PCR assays;
