RPMI 1640 + 4mM Glutamine + 2mM Sodium Pyruvate (NaP) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Maintain cultures between 2-9x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37C.
The cell line CD59(+) was derived from the lymphoma cell line U937 (ECACC No. 85011440) by a single limited dilution step. Although the cells express CD59, mAb directed against CD59 did not enhance the killing of this cell line. Together with results from Western blot analysis these results indicate that CD59(+) cells express a dysfunctional and structurally abnormal form of CD59.
