This is the complete description of the cell line that you requested.
By selecting a generic term (e.g. SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding list of controlled terms, while by selecting a specific term you will go to the list of corresponding cell line names.
SPECIES: human
TISSUE/ORGAN: peripheral blood
TUMOR: leukemia, pre-B cell
DSMZ catalog code: ACC 39
Morphology: round, small, single cells in suspension
Description: human B cell precursor leukemia established from the peripheral blood of a 15-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL FAB L2) in relapse in 1983; cells were described to be EBNA-negative and to carry (8;14) and (14;18) translocations confirmed as human with IEF of MDH, NP
Viruses: ELISA: reverse transcriptase negative; PCR: EBV-, HBV-, HCV-, HHV-8-, HIV-, HTLV-I/II-
Depositor: Dr. L. Pegoraro, University of Torino, Turin, Italy
General Restrictions
Available in the following LABORATORY:
-
German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ, Braunschweig)
80-90% RPMI 1640 + 10-20% FBS cells are very difficult to culture and grow very slowly! cells appear to grow better in 24-well-plates than in flasks; optimal density at about 1-3 x 106 cells/ml; split carefully at 37C with 5% CO2 maximal density at about 4-5 x 106 cells/ml;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 5 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture assays;
Validated by: DNA fingerprinting (unique Hinf I-(gtg)5 DNA profile) * immunological analysis (CD3- CD10+ CD13- CD19+ CD37+ HLA-DR+ cyIgG/IgM- smIgG/IgM-) * isoenzymes (confirmed as human with IEF of MDH, NP)
