Morphology: single, round cells in suspension
Description: mouse hybridoma (anti-C3d receptor and anti-EBV receptor) established by fusion of the P3X63AG8.653 mouse myeloma cell line with spleen cells of a BALB/c mouse immunized with human B cell line SB; cells were reported to produce a monoclonal antibody (IgG 2a kappa) reacting with the human C3d receptor (CD21) and an EBV receptor of 145 kDa confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, MDH, PEP B

85% RPMI 1640 + 15% FBS optimal density at 0.5 x 106 cells/ml, minimal density at 0.1 x 106 cells/ml; split 1:3 to 1:5; after thawing it is advised to use feeder cells for the first 7-10 days at 37C with 5% CO2 maximal density at 1.0 x 106 cells/ml;
doubling time of about 50 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 5 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
Validated by: DNA fingerprinting (unique Hinf I-(gtg)5 DNA profile) * isoenzymes (confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, MDH, PEP B) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase negative)
