80% TC 100 medium + 20% FBS cells are difficult to culture and grow slowly! split confluent culture 1:3 to 1:6 every 3-4 days using a (plastic) cell scraper cells grow without CO2 (keep lid of flask closed) at room temperature (20-25 C) cell harvest of up to 12 x 106 cells/80 cm 2 flask;
doubling time of ca. 50-100 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 2 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
