EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) (pH7.4 - 7.5). Split confluent cultures 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 23C. A replication capacity of up to 50 passages is expected.

Derived from a trypsinised suspension of pooled caudal portions of the trunk of one year old fingerlings. Will grow at temperatures from 15C to 33C. Cells susceptible to lymphocystis virus of fish and tadpole edema virus (TEV) of frogs.
