Part of the Business Division of the Health Protection Agency (ECACC, Salisbury, Wiltshire)
RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 20% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Maintain cultures between 100,000 to 1,000,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37C. A maximum cell density of 2-4x1,000,000 cells/ml is achieved.
Derived from the pleural effusion of a patient with undifferentiated lymphoma. The cells are EBNA negative, express surface IgM Lambda and secrete pentameric IgM which does not bind to protein A. Complement and Fc receptors were not detected.
