DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cells 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Derived from the liver of a Wistar rat and is useful in quantitative carcinogenesis studies. Inoculation into new born rats is more sensitive than nude mice for detection of tumorigenicity of rat liver lines.
