90% MEM (with Earle's salts) + 10% FBS + 1x non-essential amino acids split confluent culture 1:2 to 1:3 every 2-4 days using trypsin/EDTA; seed out at ca. 0.2 x 105 cells/cm 2 at 37C with 5% CO2 about 20-30 x 106 cells/80 cm 2;
doubling time of ca. 32-50 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 1-2 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization, PCR assays;
Validated by: cytogenetics 1 (near-diploid with 21% tetraploidy; 40-45,XY; hypetdiploid sideline present at 19%; resembles published description) * isoenzymes (confirmed as hamster with IEF of AST, LDH, MDH, NP, PEP B)
