90% RPMI 1640 + 10% FBS maintain at 0.5-1.5 x 106 cells/ml; subculture at a 1:2 to 1:3 dilution every 48 hours; seed out at ca. 0.5 x 106 cells/ml at 37C with 5% CO2 grows up to about 2 x 106 cells/ml;
doubling time of ca. 40 hours;
frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 5 x 106 cells/ampoule;
negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization, PCR assays;
